the number of transactions increased by 30 percent compared to last year’s same
period.
In Budapest Small Apartments Are Popular
In Budapest the smaller, 35-41-square-meter apartments are the most popular: they get sold for HUF 150-240 thousand per square meter on average. The smaller – less-than-100-square-meter – family houses are also in demand: they are bought for HUF 250-370 thousand per square meter. In Budapest selling these properties takes 25 days less, than in the country.
In The Country Bigger Apartments Are More in Demand
Outside the capital larger apartments are more in demand. In the country 50-55-square-meter apartments and more-than-100-square-meter family houses are the most popular: the first ones get sold for HUF 100-200 thousand and the latter ones for HUF 50-100 thousand per square meter.
More Investors in the Market
The investors’ presence in the market also increased: most of them buy apartments in Budapest or in cities with a university or a college to sublet them, mostly to students. Real estate agencies also play a more important role in the market, regarding both buyers and sellers.
